Character Counts:
On January 10, 2007, the MHS Character Counts inducted 30 new members
into the group. They joined the current membership of 83 students.
Character Counts is a service organization whose members agree to
follow the Six Pillars of Character as established by the National
Character Counts movement. In addition, students agree to participate
in three service projects per year. Students choose to be role models
and to be fair, respectful, caring, trustworthy, responsible and
good citizens. Under the leadership of their president, Character
Counts has undertaken many service projects. Character Counts members
participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for
Life on April 13th and April 14th. Character Counts received the
prestigious gold award and a first place trophy for donations totaling
more than
$5,000. We had 60 students and 25 staff and family members walking.
Character Counts thanks the Marlington Staff and community for their
generous support!
