Math Standards Pacing Chart 4th Nine Weeks
Number, Number Sense and Operations
I can use models and visual representation to develop the concept of ratio as part-to-part and part-to-whole and the concept of percent as part-to-whole.
I know the value of one variable depends on the value of another variable for instance in the problem x + 2 = y, y =5 when x = 3.
Measurement |
I can use a protractor to measure degrees in angles.
I can locate points on a grid and draw lines between them, for example left or right and up or down.
I can find surface area and volume (measure of outside of the figure compared to the inside measure of the figure).
I know how to find perimeter, area, and volume.
I can use a formula to find area and perimeter of rectangles, triangles, parallelograms, and volume of rectangular prisms.
I know benchmark angles (right, straight, 45 degrees).
Geometry
I can draw circles and know diameter, radius, and circumference.
I know the terms: line, ray, line segment, angle, parallel, perpendicular, skew lines.
I can label vertex, ray, and interior and exterior of angles.
I know what congruent figures are (same size and same shape).
I know the sum of interior angles of a triangle are 180 degrees. I can find the sum of polygons by drawing triangles.
I can graph points on an x y axis (-4,2).
I understand whether an angle is obtuse, acute, right, or straight.
I can predict what form a net will make when folded (pattern).
Patterns, Functions, and Algebra
I know the value of one variable depends on the value of another variable.
I can represent equations for inequalities (x + 2 = 7).
