Mrs. Myers' second grade class has been involved in a distance learning project with another second grade class from Watauga Elementary School in Watauga, Texas! The project is called "The Groundhog Project". This distance learning project, with the help of Marlington technology integration specialist Edith Strader, has joined the two classes to determine whether the groundhog is right in his weather prediction.
Students are graphing daily weather and comparing communities, lifestyles and weather with Texas. Mascots were traded between the two schools, and Rex the wildcat is visiting Lexington School and families, with documentation, journaling and photographs being exchanged.
At the conclusion of the six-week study, mascots will be returned, and Lexie the German shepherd will return to Lexington.
